CBK Mobile Payments

This dataset details the growth and activity of mobile payment services overseen by the Central Bank of Kenya.
It covers various aspects of mobile money, from infrastructure (agents) to user base (accounts) and transaction flow (volume and value).
There's a clear upward trend across all metrics, particularly in registered accounts and transaction values, indicating significant growth in mobile payment adoption over the years.
The data includes projections up to 2026, showing continued growth in active agents and registered accounts.
The minimum values for active agents and registered accounts are extremely low compared to their maximums, suggesting a very nascent stage in the early years of the dataset.
The dataset appears complete with no obvious missing values or immediate anomalies, though the projected data for 2026 might be based on current trends.
How has the growth in active mobile money agents correlated with the increase in registered accounts over time?
What is the average annual growth rate for agent cash-in/out value in KSh billions?
How do the projected mobile payment metrics for 2026 compare to the actual figures from earlier years?
